Garlic is actually only harmful to dogs in incredibly large amounts. In small amounts, it offers many health benefits. Many holistic vets and nutritionists include a small amount of garlic in their homemade recipes. The amount of garlic that we include in some of our foods is not enough to be harmful even to the smallest of dogs. We have included garlic in our recipes since we started creating healthy, whole foods for pets in 2002, and are confident in our use.
Garlic can help support the immune system’s ability to fight infections and disease, as it helps support the digestive system and stimulates the intestinal tract. Garlic contains protein, fiber, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sodium, vitamin A, thiamine, niacin, taurine, zinc, riboflavin, and many other nutritive compounds.
